  1. Wash and soak the mung beans and masoor daal overnight
  2. Warm the oil in a sauté pan
  3. Add the cumin seeds and bay leaves and stir until the cumin seeds crackle
  4. Add the onions, garlic, ginger and rest of the spices.
  5. Cook until the onions are light golden
  6. Drain the excess water from the mung beans and masoor daal and transfer into the slow cooker
  7. Add the lamb, tomatoes and salt in the slow cooker
  8. Pour the onion and spice mixture over the meat
  9. Add the water and lemon slices
  10. Cook in the slow cooker on high for 5 hours
  11. Once cooked, you can blend the haleem to achieve a creamy texture
  12. Sprinkle with garnish ingredients
