Tips for Enjoying Fresh Vegetable Juice as Part of a Balanced Diet
Juices can be a delicious way to include more fruits and vegetables in your diet. Here are some tips to make the most of them:
- Go Heavy on Veggies – Focus on a mix that’s about 80% vegetables and 20% fruits for a nutrient-packed juice without overloading on natural sugars.
- Mind Your Portions – Start with a small serving and adjust based on your needs. Juices are concentrated, so a little goes a long way.
- Pair with Protein or Healthy Fats – Add a handful of nuts, seeds, or a boiled egg on the side to create a balanced snack and help slow the absorption of natural sugars.
- Stay Hydrated – Keep your water intake up throughout the day to support your body and overall well-being.
How to make it
Five ingredients and two steps are all that’s needed to make this carrot juice.
Thoroughly wash and prep all your fruits and vegetables (Images 1-3) according to your juicer’s instructions, then let the juicing magic begin (Images 4-6).
Food Safe Storage
Fresh is best, but if you’ve got leftovers, no worries! Pour your juice into a mason jar (or any airtight container) and pop it in the fridge for up to 2 days. Just give it a good shake before sipping because, yep, juice separation is a thing. Want to keep it even longer? Freeze it in cute little portions so you’re always just a thaw away from a refreshing sip!
